The problem for the Rangers is that Game 7 of the teams’ Eastern Conference semifinal series will be at Carolina (8 p.m. ET Monday, ESPN).

The Hurricanes have won all seven of their home games, while going 0-6 on the road. The Rangers are 1-5 on the road while going 6-1 at home. The Rangers are also 4-0 in potential elimination games this postseason.

The winner of Monday’s game will host the two-time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference final Wednesday.

Mike Brehm: Hurricanes 3, Rangers 2. I had the Hurricanes facing the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Final. They’ll take the next step with a home win against the Rangers.

Jimmy Hascup: Rangers 4, Hurricanes 3: After picking the Hurricanes in six in our second-round predictions, I’m going off the board here. Carolina goalie Antti Raanta showed cracks in the Game 6 loss, while New York has played its best hockey with its season on the line and has the Igor Shesterkin advantage between the pipes.

Jace Evans: Hurricanes 4, Rangers 2. Carolina is just a different team at home, where it is 7-0 in the playoffs this year. Make it 8-0.
